Concerning being a parent, are you making any resolutions for 2009?

I don't usually make resolutions just for the sake of making them. This year (2009) though we will be straightening out our finances and with that comes some needed organization. Yesterday I went to Indigo and picked up The Homebox.

By organizing our finances and other important paperwork, we will be doing the whole family a huge favour. It will relieve a lot of stress and hopefully we'll have our wills done as well.

Everything that is on the poll I try to do already. I see that as part of being a parent to my children and building a strong relationship as a family.

If I were to make a resolution and I don't usually do that because they tend to be forgotten, but it would be more cognizant of kids need for different, alone time with me. I often interact with them as a unit instead of individuals because of time constraints. I only manage it about once a month with each alone.

I'm a yeller so I'm going to try to control that... Also, my 'resolution' is ME. I've let myself go so badly since having kids that now I want to try to lose weight, look and feel better. Exercice, which for me is the Devil...lol... I'm going to force myself to use our wii... Dance Revolution has a workout setting so I'll try that...lol...

My DS and I have made a pact not to eat ANY chocolate for the entire month of January. \:o It's making him realize just how many things he eats have chocolate in them (e.g. chocolate milk, chocolate chip granola bars, etc.)

He made the vow after he left the dentist today after finding out he has to have 4 small fillings done. \:\( I was so proud to hear him say that that I thought I'd offer my support by making the same vow.

As for the listed resolutions....they're all constants.

Not really a resolution, just a goal.

To see my almost 18 year old graduate from high school without hanging him first.

2009 will be about survival for me. I will have 4 children...2 of which will be under 18 months. My goal is to make it through those first few difficult months without loosing any of them! lol

By "survival" I mean parent to my standards. I don't want anything to slack just because there is one more. I also don't want to turn into a parent that I don't want to be just because things get more difficult and chaotic. (if that made any sense)

Not as much about parenting, but creating a budget and sticking to it. Spending as much time with my son as possible doing fun things !!
