I wet my bed until I was almost 13. In my case I feel a lot of it was psychological and probably developmental. I grew up in a rather abusive household so MOST nights, sleep time was my only safe time. I feel that because this was my safe time I pretty much slept through everything. My parents tried this pad contraption which when it got wet the slightest bit it would set off an alarm to wake me up. 90% of the time I slept through the alarm. They tried no drinks after supper time, which was aweful cause they used to watch me brush my teeth etc and I wasnt allowed to shut the door to the bathroom incase I "snuck" a drink! The one thing they DID NOT try was waking me during the night to make me use the bathroom. This may have helped it may not.
I dont know how your react to your daughters bed wetting but my parents did not handle it the right way. I used to get spanked almost every day for wetting the bed! I eventually started hiding the sheets which again resulted in a spanking. Either way I was doomed. Being that she is ten I would suggest she be the one responisble for washing the sheets. This isnt a punishment but rather lets her deal with it without having to be embarrassed by someone else handling the wet sheets etc. I went through a similar thing with my son. Up until this fall he used to have poop accidents at least once a week. It used to get me so angry because sometimes the accidents were due to him being to lazy to go to the bathroom..even when he was just sitting on the couch watching tv. Then I took a different approach. Whenever I could smell that he was "poopy" I would ask him if there was something he needed to do. He would then go run his own shower, get changed and take his underpants down to the basement to soak in the bucket of water and bleach I had there for him. I had to deal with this for almost 7 yrs but out of the blue it stopped.
Im not a professional...just relating my experiences and how I wish my parents had dealt with it with me.
Good luck to you and your daughter.
