Dh has been on it and in his first 6 months he lost 103lbs.
Since then he's been maintaining and now he's gearing up to lose another 25-50. HOWEVER, LA has changed their plan over the summer and there is no way he can follow their new plan, as a diabetic, at he size he is and continue to lose weight. he's had to discuss it with the manager who spoke with head office, who have sent a request to their dietician.... He said they could either allow him to continue to stay on the plan he was on or give a refund. I'm not sure wht the difference is other than allowing more starches as I wasn't following the plan. when he started out, he ate a lot of salad and protein and limited carbs. he was sure to eat the prescribed amout of fruits and vegetables. He's done weight watchers in the past and prefers LA before the new change. his sister has been on it as well and is doing well. One of the doctor's here is reccomending it to patients as it seems to be the plan with one of the best results. Too bad it isn't covered by medical insurance when a doctor reccomends it.

I tried LA at one point... I actually hated the program. It's changed since (the program at least), but I hated the sales tactics used etc... For differences, LA is an exchange based system (at least it was), while the points system let's you technically eat what you want as long as you stay around your allotted points (though you're encouraged to eat by the numbers to get the proper variety of food etc)

I personally prefer WW (though I am on a medically supervised plan right now).

Hi Kelly,

I have not tried LA.. but I have not heard too many positives on it.. but that is just word of mouth I know that one is open here on the island.. actually like 5 seconds from where I live.. I however have lost 90 lbs on my own.. I still have 30 to go..
and an appt with my surgeon for a HOPEFULLY revision at the end of the month... I have to lose 15 lbs by sept 25th.. not impossible.. I have lost 10 in the past 3 weeks.
IF your in town sometime and would like a walking partner or run let me know.. I am just getting into the running again.. back back in the day I ran marathons( did weight training heavily as well.. lets say I was a buff tank) .. anyway long story as to the weight gain blah blah blah.. but anyway I don't scare small children and animals anymore..lol..
