So I have been looking at these and I made some when dd was babe out of tube sicks but the baby legs are so cute and super nice for cloth diapering.
So my dh is all his infinite wisdom says,
"just cut off the toe of a pair of knee socks".
So I know have 4 pairs of baby legs for free out of my dh's sock drawer. I have washed them twice so far and no un-ravelling.

So Slingin' you and dh -both genius's.

I've made several pairs for DS and I don't let him leave the house without them!

I have a great link on "how to" with making the ends more tapered if you like I'll post it.

I'm currently searching for either camoflauge or cowprint socks to make a new pair!

The first few pairs I made were just finished with a piece of elastic sewn to the bottom and then turned under to hide it. I used the guidance below and really like the way they turned out.

DIY BabyLegs

Thanks I'll check out ON.

They're leg warmers. I got some at a discount for my DD, they're great!

LOVE THEM! Now I'm on a mission to find cool knee socks when I'm away! It's the longer knee socks that you need right?

LP, if I see and camo or cow print I'll pick some up for you!

I looked at the pattern and have a quick question: do you have to cut up the length of the sock and sew it smaller?

No. The length remains intact. The only "length" that is adjusted to become a wee bit smaller is the cuff alone.

If you need more guidance LMK.

Sorry, I re-read that and realised it wasn't clear. I meant do you have to cut the sock and sew to make the width smaller (the diametre of the sock)?

Thanks.

Haha. No it was me who wasn't clear I understood you perfectly. What I should have said was the entire length of the sock stays in tact diametre-wise. So, no you don't need to make the entire sock more narrow, just the bottom cuff.

Sorry for being as clear as mud!

Oh, my god!! Do you know how many pairs of striped socks I have with holes in the heals. I usually cut the feet off and use them under my elbow pads when I'm skating. It never even occurred to me to put them on my baby!!!
