I have been working hard on the "Head stuff", the stuff that has been inhibiting my efforts (a lot of all or nothing thinking). I am working on getting in tune with my true hunger symbols. I am also working on ensuring that my food selections in general are nourishing for my body (and sometimes chocolate is nourishing ).
So Eating has been great, that said, my exercise is seriously lagging right now, but am slowly getting back to my daily habit. Not saying I am not active, just not taking the 1 hour time for me to get in a good workout.
Ali

I have been banging my head against the wall in my free time. I really lack time right now but I have been active daily. Not strenuous exercise but tons of walking and either babywearing or pushing 2 kids in a double stroller. I am eating okay...not super but not too bad. And the weight is slowly increasing. I'm pretty sure it's due to my meds but I don't have a solution.
Other than that, we're having a great fun summer!

Squish - perhaps download some motiviating podcasts to listen to while working. I know it can be tough, I have been there before.
Anyway, so proud, I got myself to the gym for the 6:10am weight lifting class... It was hard, my daughter was up for almost 16 hours yesterday and was fighting sleep like crazy.

squish, how often do you do a long run? once a week?
Yes, once per week.
During the week I do from 3.5-6 K runs. Then (usually) on the weekend I do one long run. I have slowly been in increasing my distance over the past few months, and I am now at 10K. I am doing a 10K race in the fall, but my personal goal was to be able to do 10K comfortably by the end of July so I can start to increase my speed. I'll work at getting up to 12K just so by the time October rolls around, I can do 10K without a problem.
Last year I hit a plateau with weight loss, even though I was running up to 14K on my long runs. The only thing that made a difference for me was to change what I ate. So you can try to increase your distance. It won't hurt. Just try not to justify eating more because you are running more. That was the trap I fell into last year, and even though I could run far, I wasn't losing weight. KWIM?

Hi guys
Sorry I haven't been around, this summer is supper busy for me!
Ali, I'm so glad you are able to get a bit of YOU time. I remember how hard it was with little ones. Tricia, with all that has been going on, I've put that 10 k on the backburner. But I really do want to do it with you. I've been slowly getting back to the running, not sure how ready I can be for Oct...but I'm going to try. I've been doing about 6 k a night...not all running mind you as DH comes with me most nights. What I need to do is a morning run and then not push him so hard at night..lol Kelly, carbs feed the body, just make sure they are the right carbs...avoid anything white! I know...easier said than done. Melissa, with 4 kids, don't be so hard on yourself. And all that walking and running after the kids I'm sure has gotten you in much better shape than you think you are.
As for weight...I had gained a few pounds in Holland. Did a ton of walking, but ate a ton too. I did one serious run there, but thats all I had time for. Then came home and haven't stopped moving. I lost all the weight that I gained. Sigh..so hard to find that perfect balance to maintain. And I simply refuse to eat junk food or go back to all the bad habits that allowed me to get so big in the first place.
Keep up all the hard work everyone!!
